Mamie Edwards McGinnis' Obituary
Mamie Edwards McGinnis passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the age of 93.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas Earl McGinnis. Loving mother of Thomas E. McGinnis (Joey) and Carolyn McGinnis Pope (Mike). Daughter of the late Esther Stanga Edwards and Walter Daniel Edwards. Grandmother of Michael (Arlene) Pope, Timothy Pope, Laurie (Jeff) Weber, Deborah (Gene) Robbins, Jennifer (Jason) Martin, and Allison Snow. Great-grandmother of Zachary (Jamie) and Andrea Steadman, Ariana and Analise Pope, Blake, Bailey and Evan Weber, Carly, Madelyn, Kyrie, Brady and Corey Robbins, Zachary and Jordan Martin, Ashlyn Drumm, and Logan Snow. Also survived by nephews, a niece, and several cousins.
She was loved and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She was a loving person with a wonderful sense of humor.
Mrs. McGinnis was born in Madisonville and a longtime resident of Louisiana. She was an active member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish in Kenner along with her husband of 55 years. They lived there for over 30 years. Three years after her husband’s death in1996, she moved to Colorado where she resided until her death.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447 with visitation at church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Stanga Cemetery.
