I was so sorry to hear about Madge's going home to be with the Lord. We grew up together at Metairie Baptist Church. I have many fond memories of all the things we did together. We went to her aunt's house in Pass Christian, MS and went crabbing off the bridge. Our parents were good friends. I'm sorry we didn't correspond more often. It is wonderful to know that we will see her again in heaven one day.

Dion & Rebecca and family, I am truly sorry for the loss of your mom. I know your heart aches but that you will find great joy in knowing she is at peace in heaven. I don't need to tell you about what an amazing heart she had. However, I would like to share with you something you may not know. Years ago when I first became a part of your dad's life, your mom wrote a beautiful letter to me. She wanted to thank me and expressed how grateful she was that I was there to care for and be with her girls "daddy". She knew how you both worried about his health and happiness. Your mom always made me feel welcomed and loved. She truly had a genorous and caring spirit and treated me with respect and kindness. I will always think of her kindly.

I will always remember Madge as a wonderful Christian woman. I was blessed to sing with her in choir when we went to church in Covington, but lived in Mandeville (1988-94). I know that her sweet family will miss her, but there is comfort in knowing she is in heaven. Thanks for letting the light of Jesus shine on me in your words and deeds. You inspired others to live for the glory of God. How many souls were saved because of the life you lived? Only God knows that number.
Madge was my Sunday School teacher in Charlotte NC. I had never heard someone talk so openly about their mistakes and then with eyes of joy talk about the love that Jesus has for us no matter our mistakes. She was genuine, not religous, and it was Madge that helped me to be on the wonderful path of forgiveness and compassion.
