Madge "Mickey" Deegan's Obituary
Madge “Mickey” Deegan (née Risey) age 85, late of Covington, LA and formerly of New Orleans, LA passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Preceded in death by Charles Ebling whom she had a loving commitment with. Mother to Linda (Aaron) Slayter, Patricia (William) Watkins, and Daniel (Edie) Deegan. Caring grandmother to Jamie (Stephen) Bateman, Tracey (Dereck) Taplin, Natalie Stieffel, Alyce (Daniel) Lis, and Alexis Wilson. Proud great-grandmother to Tori, Charlie Gabrielle, Stephen, Mallory, Emma, and Nathan. Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Helen Risey Sr and siblings: Michael, John, Arnold, Elwood, Leonard, Robert, Earl, Helen (Scullin), Catherine (Pacheco), and Shirley (Oswald). She is the loving grandmother of the late Daniel Charles Deegan. Mickey enjoyed a passion of sewing and would hand-make beautiful dolls every year to be auctioned off for charity through BellSouth where she retired after 30 years of commitment. Matthew 5:3 “God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.”
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue Covington, LA 70433.
