Lydia Herzog Weiser's Obituary
Lydia Herzog Weiser passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Covington, LA. She was born on January 11, 1921 in Copperas Cove, TX to the late John A. Herzog (Saxony, Germany) and Mary Jacob Herzog (Fedor, TX).
Lydia was married to her beloved husband, the late Leonard Weiser (Lincoln, TX), for 66 years. She was the loving mother of Bryan Weiser (Linda) and Karen Fransen (Henry). Lydia was the proud grandmother of Brandy Fransen, Barry Fransen (Nicole), Lindsay Mouhot (Ross), and Bradley Weiser and great grandmother to Kellan and Gabriel Fransen and Blaire Mouhot. She was the sister of Emil Herzog, Ida Kriegel, John Herzog, Carl Herzog, Mary Kelm, Esther Brautigam and Ludwig Herzog.
After high school Lydia moved to Dallas, TX to take a business course and worked there until World War II. She and Leonard were married during the war in St. Louis and she worked for the Air Force for three years in Arizona. After the war, Lydia was manager of Weiser Office Machine Co. in Shreveport, LA. After moving to New Orleans, she worked for NASA Space Center as an accountant and auditor for Canal Mortgage Co. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the church choir for many years. Lydia became a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church after moving to Mandeville, LA and lived there for the rest of her life.
