Luther Pierre's Obituary
Luther Pierre died peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 surrounded by family in the comfort of his home in Folsom, LA at the age of 87. He was born on September 22, 1930 and was a life-long resident of Folsom, LA to the late Duncan Pierre and Lizzie Baham Pierre.
Luther was married to his beloved wife, Marlene Rainey Pierre, for 63 years. He was the loving father of Marilyn Reid (Mike), Justin Pierre (Kitty), Timothy L. Pierre (Tina), and Carlene Barfield (Joe). Luther was the proud grandfather of Carla, Casey, Staci, Ryan, Jon, Ross, the late Mitchell, and Timothy, Jr. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. He was the brother of Eloise P. Sharp, Eldon Pierre, Wilford Pierre, Castle Pierre, the late Lindsey Pierre, Charles Pierre, and Eva Mae P. Barnett.
Luther served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a welder in shipbuilding by trade. Luther was a devoted husband and father and will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 Noon until service time.
