Dear Family of Lucy Rausch,
I did not know Lucy, but as President of the local United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter here in Covington, I was recently given a box of papers from the home of a Mrs. Bertha Neff, who I understand worked in the Clerk of Court's office for some 16 years beginning in the early 1950's.
In this box are the papers of the establishment of a "new" chapter of the UDC, The Leonidas Polk Chapter. The Chapter was chartered in 1955, and Lucy Rausch was a charter member of this chapter.
In the box are the original membership papers of all the charter members, Lucy being one, which claim her direct linage to her Confederate ancestry. Mrs. Neff and Mrs. Rausch must have been close friends and I assume, worked side by side in the clerk's office.
If the family has any want of Mrs. Rausch's UDC paperwork, you may contact met via email at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Leslie J. Ackel

John,
It's your friends Lise' and Danny Ayers. Your Mom was a wonderful lady who touched many lives. She will be missed until that day when we all meet in heaven.
So very sorry to hear of Lucy s passing. She was a strong person under that quiet persona, I wish we had more public figures that cared about this country as she did.
Such a nice person. I think she listened with her heart. I worked for Lucy for 18 years and I can tell you folks like her will be sorely missed....
Miss Lucy was a such a nice loving woman, my Dad worked with her for many years and became good friends. Praying for strength for your Family. With Deepest Sympathy, The Rollins and Lewis Family
Miss Lucy will be missed by all who know her.
Thinking of you all. Love always. Leslie
Lucy was my neighbor for many, many years. I saw first hand her love and devotion to her husband and children. She was a loving, caring, thoughtful lady who will never be replaced. She and LuLu loved getting decked out for Mardi Gras and enjoyed many vacation trips with her friends. When she moved to Houston to be near LuLu, it broke my heart to see her go but I knew it was for the best. We have lost a great lady. Rest In Peace, Lucy and tell LuLu she is missed also. Bubba, my prayers for your family.❤️❤️❤️
I worked with Miss Lucy as she was know from day one when was elected as Clerk Of Court. She was a boss you go to with problems and she would come to your rescue. Everyone love Lucy. She will be missed by everyone that ever worked for and with her . I will always miss her. She was a real lady in every way. Betty Thomas
We were so sorry to hear the sad news of Lucy's passing. She was truly one of the nicest people I ever met and became friends with over the years after first moving here back in 1971. She will always be remembered, and sadly missed by many. Our sincere condolences go out to her entire family!
