Lucy was a light to everyone who knew her. Her compassion and joy were gift to us all. “Heavenly Father, wrap your loving arms around the whole McLachlan, etc. family and help our memories carry us through grieving her loss to us....but what a gain heaven has made!” Amen

Words cannot express the sorrow I felt when I heard the news of Lucy's death I met Lucy as a freshman at LSU. We lived on the same wing in Annie Boyd Hall.I was immediately attracted to her "larger than life personality" and that Laugh would brighten anyone's day. Since I was from Florida and didn't go home frequently, Lucy's family took me in as one of their own. I thought of Big Jim and Margaret as my Louisiana parents. I spent many weekends and holidays at their home in Covington. I frequently look back and treasure those memories. My prayers and sympathy for the entire family. She will be missed! Judy Bembry Lee
Lucy and I were sisters-in-law for 15 years and friends for over 45 years. I was there when Mac was a little guy and enjoyed storytelling and helping Lucy when I lived close by. Mac named me NeeNee, a name my grand babies still call me today. We share the loss of our Mac’s and she was forever a bright spot in my life...forever united in love and loss. I enjoyed a visit with her just this week. She was an amazing woman and one I am proud to call “friend”. My deepest condolences to Craig and her family...
I will never forget my friend, Lucy. Her laugh was both contagious and never imitated without a smile. I will always remember our first year of teaching together . And if walls could talk!!! BUT my most fond memory is sitting with her upon, Craig's request , during the night of Mac's arrival . It was very special. I loved her so, and know she is glorifying in the presence of our Lord with Mac and her family at her side!!!!
To the McLachlan Family,
I am so sad to hear of the passing of Lucy. She was one of the sweetest ladies you could know. She always had a big smile on her face and would greet you with enthusiasm. She will be missed.
