Lucille Marie "Ms. Lucy" Bourdon's Obituary
Lucille Marie “Ms. Lucy” Bourdon, age 95, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was born on December 7, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Oscar P. Bourdon and Beulah Bergeron Bourdon.
She is survived by her son, Charles B. “Charlie” Venturella, Sr.; grandchildren, Charles B. Venturella, Jr., Kyle D. Venturella (Delanie), and Ross M. Venturella; great-grandson, Anthony “Tony” Venturella; and many extended family members and friends.
Ms. Lucy grew up in the 9th Ward of New Orleans and graduated from F. T. Nicholls High School where she was a flag bearer with the marching band. In her early years, she worked in the records room at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans and as a substitute teacher in the St. Bernard Parish School District. During that time, she also accompanied the Chalmette High School Chorus as their pianist before relocating to the Northshore in 1970.
Ms. Lucy’s love for animals began in childhood and persisted throughout her later years and until her passing. She cared for numerous rescued cats and dogs for many years and had horses, donkeys, goats, cats, dogs, and many other animals as loving pets at various times in her life.
The family extends their specific gratitude to Patricia Swindler, Vicky Williams, and St. Tammany Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate care they have shown to Ms. Lucy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the adjacent Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
