Lucien J. Joly's Obituary
Lucien J. Joly passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the age of 89.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret Jones Joly for 39 years. Loving father of Jeanette Essick (Rocky), Rodney Joly (Michelle), Jacqueline Schwander (Donald) and the late Robert Joly and Robbie Schmolke. He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Lucien was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during World War II. He was a native of New Orleans, where he was the President and owner of Joly's Metal Works, Inc. He lived in Diamondhead, MS for 25 years where he was a member of Holy Trinity Men’s Club, VFW Post 2880, American Legion Post 139 and the Diamondhead Men’s Golf Association. For the past three years he resided at Christwood Retirement Community in Covington, LA. Where he made many new and caring friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon with visitation at church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM. There will be a celebration of his life immediately following at Christwood Retirement Community.
The family requests no flowers and instead donations in memory of Mr. Joly be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, New York 10163.
