Lowell G. Hammons' Obituary
Lowell G. “Brownie” Hammons, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007.
He retired as a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, he started a support group on the Northshore. Brownie, as he was known to his family and close friends, enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf and poker with friends and singing in the church choir. Beloved husband of Ivanez Hammons. Father of Karen Estey, Randall Hammons and the late Byron Hammons. Grandfather of Megan and Erin Estey. Brother of Frans Hammons.
A native of Thomas, OK and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 33 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Hammond Seventh-day Adventist Church, Thompson Rd @ Hwy 190 East, Hammond, LA. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 in charge of arrangements.
