Louise Poitevent Eckley's Obituary
Louise Poitevent Eckley passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born February 6, 1956 at the US Army base in Landstuhl, Germany to Dorothy Grant Poitevent and John Poitevent. Louise was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, the late John Poitevent, II. She is survived by her daughters, Grant Melius Worrell (Ryan) and Logan Melius Vella (Andrew); her grandchildren John Rodger Worrell and Eloise Margaret Vella; and nieces Emily Rivers Poitevent and Lindsey Poitevent Kase (Nicholas). Louise was a graduate of Louise McGhee School and Louisiana State University. After college she returned to New Orleans where she remained an active member of Kappa Delta sorority and the Junior League. Louise was also a member of The Orleans Club and Colonial Dames. Louise lived in Scottsdale, Arizona for many years before returning to New Orleans to be near her children and grandchildren. Private services were held for the family at Garden of Memories by St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.
