Louis Moore "Steve" Stephenson Jr.'s Obituary
Louis Moore Stephenson, Jr. ("Steve") passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was born in Atlanta, GA, on September 4, 1938.
He is survived by his children, James Stephenson (Cheryl Stephenson), Eve Taber Stephenson (William Van Ness), and Catherine Coyne Stephenson; his nieces and nephews Foley Beach (Allison), Krista Michelle Owens, Timothy Vincent Owens, John Noonan Owens, Kathleen Owens Bechtold, Richard Stephenson Owens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Coyne Stephenson and Louis Moore Stephenson, Sr.; his sisters, Mary Lou Owens and Arelea Stepheson; and his wife, Eve Stephenson (“Bebe”).
Steve lived a life defined by hard work, perseverance, and devotion to the people he loved. He was a proud graduate of Vanderbilt University, an experience that shaped both his education and his character. Known for his strong work ethic, he poured himself fully into both his professional and personal life, setting an example for those around him.
A natural athlete, Steve also had a lifelong love of exercise and competition. Both his athletic ability and his tireless work ethic became a lasting legacy, passed down to his children, who embody those same qualities in their own lives. He loved his children deeply and adored his wife of 64 years, Bebe. Remarkably, he lived most of his life without illness and faced the health challenges of the past two years with courage, dignity, and quiet strength.
He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for his generosity, his determination, and the love he shared with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
