Louis "Buster" Cashmere Stire, Sr.'s Obituary
Louis Cashmere “Buster” Stire, Sr. passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009.
Beloved father of Sharon Lemons Palliser, Louis “L.C.” Stire, Jr., Robert Michael Lemons, Kathy Lemons Sharp, Patty Lemons Rahmel and Kayron Stire Satterlee; He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Genevieve Lemons Stire; his second wife, Althea Hewson Lemons Stire; his mother, Loretta Escaig Stire; his father, Louis Walter Stire; a brother, Fenwick W. Stire; and an infant sister.
Age 91 years, he was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Abita Springs, LA and a current resident of Covington, LA for the past 50 years. He served his country with honors in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star. He was a salesman with Smith Cheverolet and a Consignee with Mobil Oil Company. He was a charter member of VFW Post 8720 in Abita Springs.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 22139 Level Street, Abita Springs, LA 70420 at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 15, 2009.
Visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday will be from 12:00 Noon till 1:30 PM.
Interment will follow in Abita Springs Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be his ten grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
