Loraine L. Lipscomb's Obituary
Loraine Lovitt Rodwig Lipscomb passed away in Covington on Saturday, January 13, 2007. She was born June 2, 1925 in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Thomas O. and Ida Ann Tisdale Lovitt and has been a resident of Covington for the past 53 years. A graduate of Tallulah High School in Tallullah, LA and LSU School of Agriculture in Baton Rouge, she taught for years in the St. Tammany Parish School System, was a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association and was an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church. Loraine will also be remembered as the organist at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and for playing at so many weddings in the community. She was preceded in death by her husband Graham Lipscomb; and one daughter, Sherrie Rodwig Buras; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Rodwig Kelly and her husband Skip; three sons, Thomas M. Rodwig and his wife Kathryn; Francis R. “Bobby” Rodwig, Jr. and his wife Diana; John B. Rodwig and his wife Susan; one son-in-law, Buddy Buras; nine grandchildren, Blair, Hilary and Adam Buras, Jesyka Ashlar and Hunter Rodwig, Aimee and Isabella Rodwig, Trey and Brent Kelly; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jordan, Logan, Austin and Matthew Kelly and many others that she loved so dearly. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at Faith Presbyterian Church, 16330 Highway 1085, Covington, LA 70433. Visitation will begin at the church Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow Services at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Covington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church or to Ochsner for Children, 1516 Jefferson Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70121. E.J.
