Mom, the remainder of my days will be filled with all my memories and love for you. So much fun and laughter, warmth and caring for everyone, respect for people and love for God and Jesus, concern for family, the list could go on forever. You gave me the tools I needed to handle life, how to be a strong southern woman - a steel magnolia. You lived life fearless and with integrity. You adopted two unwanted babies, one that you knew would be handicapped, and put your whole heart, soul and love into raising us fearlessly and without hesitation, even through the worst hardships imaginable. I thank you for letting God guide you to us. You saved our lives. And what a wonderful stepfather you provided for Doug and I. I learned from you how to respect and treat a husband, what an amazing marriage you had. You always told me that being a mother and grandmother were the BEST days of your life. I wouldn't know how to be a mawmaw without you. I just know that I promise you to live the rest of my days without fear, stay in touch with family and friends, follow God's commandments and keep my "Chin up - (all those close to my Mom know how to finish this)". Mom, you are gone from our sight, but NEVER, EVER forgotten. I miss you and love you, your daughter Retta.
