Lois Langguth Shiell's Obituary
Lois Langguth Shiell, age 94 of Mandeville, entered eternal life peacefully, on Monday evening, April 11, 2022 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born in Riverside, Illinois on June 13, 1927 to Henry Frederick Langguth and Gladys Abel Langguth.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Calder Shiell of New Orleans, Louisiana. Lois is survived by her loving children John Douglas Shiell (Melanie) and Judith Shiell Cahill (Joe). She was the proud grandmother of Eric Patrick Cahill, Laura Jean Shiell, and Kristen Elizabeth Shiell. Lois was the sister of the late Kenneth Arnold Langguth.
Lois was born in Riverside, Illinois and lived the majority of her life in Metairie, Louisiana. She resided in Mandeville, Louisiana for the last 15 years.
Lois was a graduate of McMain High School, and attended Louisiana State University, where she was a proud member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.
Lois enjoyed her career as a Floral Designer in several prominent floral shops. She was a multi talented lady, with hobbies such as decorating, cooking, entertaining, gardening and needlework. Her true passions were her love for God, family and friends.
Visitation for Lois will be held at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 10:00 am -11:00 am followed by the service. The Rev. Bob Carvajal will officiate the funeral service. A private family interment will be held at Abita Springs Cemetery, Abita Springs, LA.
