Lois Blackwell Gendusa's Obituary
Lois Blackwell Gendusa born April 22, 1922, passed away, Friday, September 4, 2009.
Age 87, she is survived by her only child, Pamela Anne Gendusa of New Orleans, LA. Preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Angelo John "Babe" Gendusa; and her parents William Andrew Blackwell and Elsie Galloway Blackwell.
She was born in Folsom, LA, graduated from Lyon High School and retired from the Louisiana State Department of Employment Security. She lived in New Orleans (Lakeview) 46 years before retiring fulltime with her husband to their serene eighty acres in Folsom, LA, 23 years ago. Lois was a loving wife and mother and an excellent cook.
Her daughter, Pamela would like to extend her deep appreciation to Dr. Craig Parker, the staff of Forest Manor Nursing Home, especially Julie, Wendy, Sally and Brenda for their relentless care and devotion of her mother during this trying time, Dr. Mark Hontas, the staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital ICU and the staff of Gulf States LTAC for their loving care of her mother. Special thanks to a very dear friend, Mr. Sonny Kerlec.
Private services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 and have been entrusted to E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington, La.
Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Covington, LA.
