Lloyd Salathe, Sr.'s Obituary
Lloyd Walter Salathe, Sr., faithful servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ, was called home to be with Him on Wednesday afternoon, December 19, 2007.
He is now with his mother, father and brother, who have all preceded him in death; he was the son of Leonard J. Salathe, Sr. and Elizabeth L. Salathe, and brother of Leonard J. Salathe, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Faith Wenzel Salathe. He was the caring father to his daughter Lynn Junke, and sons Lloyd Salathe, Jr., Gary Salathe and Neil Salathe, who will all miss him greatly. He was blessed to have 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom he was very proud.
Aged 81 years, born on May 2, 1926 in New Orleans, where he remained a resident until his move to Covington, LA ten years ago. He served his country in the US Navy and was a graduate of Tulane University’s College of Engineering in 1946, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Known by family, friends, and co-workers for his sharp analytical mind, he was a co-owner of Gulf States Engineering, Inc., until his retirement. Following an example set by his father, he was an active participant in church activities; first at Redeemer Lutheran Church of N.O., then Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of N.O. and finally Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Covington.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, #1 N. Marigold Dr., Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation, AT THE CHURCH, on Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment in Metairie Cemetery.
