Lloyd Anthony Montero's Obituary
Lloyd A. Montero, Jr. of Covington, Louisiana, beloved son of the late Lloyd A. Montero, Sr. and Genevieve R. Montero, passed away on May 6, 2015 at the age of 70.
Lloyd was predeceased by his brother, Ronald J. Montero. He is survived by his beloved sons, Mark P. Montero and Matthew J. Montero, and by his granddaughter, Brooke Elizabeth Montero.
Lloyd was born in New Orleans and resided in Covington, Louisiana at the time of his passing. He graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1963 and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1967. He received the Masters of Business Administration degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California in 1972. Lloyd served as a Captain in the United States Air Force in South Vietnam. Following his military service, Lloyd worked as a residential contractor and was the President of Lloyd Montero Construction Corporation. He expressed the following: “I want to thank the many loyal tenants that I have had the privilege of providing Commercial office space for. I also wish to add a special word of thanks to the many customers that had the faith and confidence in me to purchase one of my houses. They have added so much to my life and I can only hope that they received and enjoyed the house they so deserved.”
Lloyd attended services at Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College, and he attended the annual retreat held at the Manresa House of Retreats in Convent, Louisiana.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass service honoring Lloyd on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM. The service will be held at Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College, 75376 River Road, Saint Benedict, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity or church of one’s choice. In accordance with Lloyd’s wishes, no other service will be held.
