Lloyd Shelton Hoffman's Obituary
Lloyd Shelton Hoffman died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the age of 82. He was born in New Orleans, LA on May 19, 1940 to Lloyd and Evelyn Hoffman.
Shelton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne Leach Hoffman; his daughters, Shelly Hoffman Salzer and her husband, Kenny, Joelle Hoffman and Katie Hoffman; his grandchildren, Jessica Marvin, Adam Burns Hoffman, Zachary Campos, Jack Lancaster and Bella Hoffman; and his great-granddaughters, Evelyn Hoffman and Melodi Lancaster.
Shelton was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Jean Scarcella and Liz Atkins; and his grandmother Mae Shelton.
Shelton attended Our Lady of Lourdes, De La Salle High School and the University of New Orleans. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1963, and after a short stint as a schoolteacher at Abita Springs Junior High, a bartender at The Heritage Lounge and police deputy in Mandeville, he began his 35-year career as a sales representative for Pfizer before retiring.
Shelton was a consummate fisherman, hunter and chef and was never without a boat, a hunting lease or an audience.
There will be no services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at one of his favorite fishing spots.
