Lloyd Vance Collins' Obituary
Lloyd Vance Collins passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the age of 80.
He was a native of Ashley County, Arkansas, a former resident of Wichita, Kansas, Pine Bluff, Arkansas and a resident of Abita Springs for the past 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Collins of Abita Springs; his daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Roland Huie of Mandeville; two grandsons, Roland Huie III of Baton Rouge and Patrick Huie of Mandeville; one brother, Billy Collins of Little Rock, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lillie Collins; two sisters, Alice White and Lois Farrar; two brothers, Claude Collins and David L. Collins.
Mr. Collins was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 1945-1952. He retired from International Paper Company in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1990. He was a member of Post 8720 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Abita Springs Senior Citizens.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 5:00 PM from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 with visitation on Saturday beginning at 3:30 PM.
