Lisa "Michelle" Devalcourt's Obituary
Lisa “Michelle” Devalcourt passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Justine Lile Mitchell, her brother, Claude Mitchell, Jr. and her sister, Bonnie Lynn Jones.
She was born in Memphis, TN but grew up in Alexandria, LA. During her early adult life, she wandered seeking a place to settle down. She spent some time in New York but eventually landed in New Orleans, LA. After New Orleans she lived in Bush, LA on “the island” where she would go on to meet her husband. They welcomed their daughter in 1998 and went on to get married in 2002.
Michelle lived her life as a jack of all trades kind of lady. She spent time as bar entertainer wrestling in a ring for tourist, house mover, casket builder, and later as a medical professional caring for others’ loved ones. She was an exuberant soul with a touch of eccentricity that never left time for a dull moment.
She is survived by her husband, Robert V. “Bob” Devalcourt, Jr., her daughter, Cosima Devalcourt, her stepdaughter, Correnne Devalcourt, her father, Claude Mitchell, Sr., her sisters, Diana Megison (David), Cheri Childress (Robert), Alice Rodriguez (Jack) and Kerry Mitchell and her grandsons, Garrett Devalcourt and Michael Woods.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA. The Celebration of Life will start at 11:00 am with a Dismissal to follow.
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Please sign the guestbook at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
