Lionel Thigpen's Obituary
Lionel Thigpen passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. A native and life resident of Covington, LA, he was born to Myrtle Thomas and Emmett Thigpen on Tuesday, February 28, 1950.
The beloved husband of Wanda McLain Thigpen, he is survived by his daughter - Tanya Thigpen Williams (Nick); one son - Ashton Thigpen (Aimee), six grandchildren - Piper, L.J., Tyler, Addison, Morgan and Emmett; three sisters - Rita Kay Vessier, Linda Simoneaux, Carol Harper; and three brothers - R.C., Billy and Gary Thigpen. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother - Emmett Glenn Thigpen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
A wake is scheduled to take place at the funeral home on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6-9:00 PM with visiting hours beginning Saturday at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Covington will immediately follow services.
