I was very sad to read of Linda's passing. I was a classmate of hers at St. Joseph's Academy, and although I was only there for our 9th and 10th grades, she was one of my good friends. I kept in touch with her, visiting her at home, until we both graduated from high school. I knew she married her high school sweet heart.
In my mind, she will always be that sweet, funny, kind, beautiful young blond haired girl in our high school uniform.
It is good to see (watching the video) that she had a wonderful life. I am sure that she is gazing at the face of God.

Dear Linda, When I read your obituary in Saturday's paper, it brought tears to my eyes. You were never just our tax preparer all those years, but I always felt you were a friend. We often chatted about our families. No question I had for you was treated as a "bother." You always were helpful and ready to make good suggestions. When you retired, I was so disappointed to lose your wonderful care and advice. The last time we communicated via email was April 12, 2018. I know that you, a good Catholic woman, are in heaven with those members of your family who you lost over the years. Your family on earth must be terribly distraught and I am praying for them. What a beautiful video tribute. Linda and I became friends years ago when she was staying with my good friend Jean in Ponchatoula during the week because of working on the north shore. When I would visit from Texas the 3 of us would spend time together in the evenings just talking and having a good time. We stayed friends thru Facebook once she retired. I am still in shock over Linda's passing. She was loved by so many. I'm sure she will be looking down and watching over her family for many lifetimes to come. RIP sweet Linda.
For 26 years Linda and I would work many long hours together during tax season to make the April 15 deadline. She never complained about the extra hours and always wanted to put the client first. She developed many friendships with the clients. Several have called me to express their condolences and they all said the same thing. Linda would take the time to talk to them on a personal level. They were friends.
Every April 15 after the last extension was filed, Linda and I would go to Ruth's Chris to celebrate. It pained me to see her order that steak well done, but that is how she liked it.
She retired two years ago so I have not observed the April 15 ritual since then. But I miss it; and I miss her. You could not ask for a more loyal employee.

The Fielding family was a pillar of the St. Frances Cabrini community; and, the St. Joseph Academy family as well. Linda always brought brightness. I was looking forward to our 50th high school reunion, April 17-19, along with other SJA classmates.

I knew Linda when we were kids - she lived across the street from me. When I was about ten and Linda was eleven, my Dad rigged up a little clubhouse for me in our garage. Linda and I decided to form The Reporter's Club and use the clubhouse as our 'press room'. We hand-wrote up a two-page newspaper called The Mithra Street Messenger and gave it out to a few neighbors. It included short interviews with neighbors, ads for kids wanting to sell their old comic books, and a Crimes Section featuring a couple of arguments that kids in the neighborhood had with one another. Linda was so much fun - she had a great laugh - and she and I had a wonderful time together that summer putting that rag together. I'll always think of her as that pretty, little, funny blonde kid across the street. Rest easy, dear Linda.
