Linda Davidson Core's Obituary
Linda Davidson Core passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011. A resident of Covington since 1972, she was born November 26, 1939 in Carthage, MS to the late Harold and Lucille Barfoot Davidson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard U. “Dickie” Core. The sister-in-law of Judy and Hugh Fitzgerald, she is also survived by three nieces: Kelli F. Schwing, Molly F. Lampard, Lori F. Sercovich and was very fond of her cousin from Carthage, MS, Diane Jones.
A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Linda taught English in Ocean Springs, MS and was a Reading teacher at Folsom Elementary for a brief period. For the past 25 years she was the financial office manager for Covington Paving. Linda was a talented artist and photographer with which she expressed her passion for wildlife and animals in general, especially her pet cats.
The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to Frances, Jennifer, Rose and Javon for their devotion to Linda and the compassionate care they provided during her illness.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
A wake is scheduled for Friday, July 29, 2011 from 6-9:00 PM with visiting hours beginning Saturday at 10:00 AM.
Interment at the Core Cemetery in Folsom will immediately follow services.
