Linda Sacco Batti's Obituary
Linda Sacco Batti, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 19, 1944, to the late Anthony and Wava Meaux Sacco, Linda was known for her strength, determination, and passion for the game of golf that was matched only by her love for her family.
A proud graduate of Judice High School, Linda pursued a career in nursing, where she was a respected nurse for over 30 years, known for her dedication and compassion. However, it was on the links where Linda truly found her joy. An avid golfer, she was a longtime member of Money Hill golf club where she and husband Dick loved the game of golf and the friendships that came with it. Linda approached golf, and life, with sportsmanship, honesty, and perseverance, leaving a legacy of grace and commitment. Linda served on the Louisiana Women's Golf Association Board of Directors and was active in Louisiana Girls' Junior Golf. On a national level, she represented Louisiana as a member of the United States Golf Association (USGA) Regional Associations Committee. Her genuine care for others left an indelible impact on everyone she met. This is evident in the many lives she touched through her mentoring of countless young women in their love of golf. In 2014, the Dick and Linda Batti Scholarship was established to assist young female golfers from Louisiana with their college education. An award is given annually to a deserving recipient who embodies the values of integrity, dedication, and leadership through golf. Linda’s legacy will continue.
Above all, Linda was a devoted wife of 32 years to her loving husband Richard Batti. She was a loving daughter, cousin, friend and a cherished "Nanny". She is survived by her family, Betty Meaux, Steven and Pam Meaux, Michelle and Brian Breaux, William Meaux, Johnny and Amie Meaux, Tommy and Kristen Meaux, Mandy and Clint Plauche, Mark and Brandy Verbois, Betty “Lou” Verbois and other family members she loved dearly. It goes without saying that she saw the world through a different lens when sharing life being called “Nanny” with her favorites, Jake and Reid Plauche and Merritt and Marlow Verbois. Linda loved big.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and laughter shared, a good bottle of wine, even better Italian food, her dear friends at McDonalds and the love she gave so freely.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Richard (Dick) Batti, her parents Anthony and Wava Sacco and loving family Jerry Meaux and Earl Verbois.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM at E. J.
