Dear Uncle Stanley, I am so sorry to hear that Aunt Penny passed away, and that she had suffered from Alzheimer's. I hope you were able to enjoy her last years with her. I remember how beautiful she was, from my childhood in New Orleans, growing up in Grandmother Lillian's and Grandfather Eugene's four-plex with my parents Muriel and Elton, and Aunt June and Uncle Harry. I cherish those Christmases at Aunt Audreys when various uncles would take turns being Santa. And the New Year's parties at Aunt Clara's. We named our only child Lillian, after Grandmother. Lili is 31 now and a Lieutenant in the Coast Guard.
May your memories and family here on earth bring you much joy until you see dear Aunt Penny again. I think Anne told you (I asked her to tell all the New Orleans family) that my mother passed away March 16 of this year. My sister Shelly and I were with her during and after the stroke, and when she transitioned into the next life. May their souls and those of all the faithful departed rest in peace...
My husband Doug and I have resolved to visit New Orleans in 2013. It has been 6.5 years since I've been there, before the hurricanes. When we do, I hope to see you. How life changes. Blessings on you and your family. Please know you have my deepest sympathy.
