Levita “Peewee” Carpenter Mendel, age 70 of Abita Springs, LA died on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her residence. Born, Thursday, February 03, 1944 in Abita Springs, LA to the late Dewey Carpenter, Sr. and Katie Thomas Carpenter. Survived by her Daughter Natasha Mendel Fisher (Robert), Granddaughters Samantha Grace, Cecilia Kate, and Payton Valerie Fisher, Sisters Gloria Smith, Doris "Dot" Barker, Ella Loyd, and Cheryl Peter, Brothers Jeff, Dewey, Jr., and Jerry Carpenter. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Husband Allen Charles Mendel, Parents and Brother John David "JD" Carpenter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 9:00 AM to service time. Interment in Abita Springs Cemetery Abita Springs, LA.
