Lettie Brown Campise's Obituary
Lettie Brown Campise, at the age of 75, entered eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 30, 2024, at Pontchartrain Guest House surrounded by her adoring loving family. She was born in Marrero, Louisiana on September 22, 1948, to Alven Brown and Eder Hymel Brown.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Campise of 52 years, her adoring children Jean Voorheis (Eric), Theresa Campise Betancourt (Richard), and Joseph M. Campise (Marla). Lettie was the proud grandmother of Samantha Baker (Preston), Kody Dupre (Jenn), Myles Waguespack (Kennedy), Jadyn Sharp (Rhett) Courtney Miller (Corey) Thomas Voorheis, Peyton and Joey Campise, Jillian and Drew Woods great grandmother of Peyton, Jane, Paxton, Cameron, Cambrie, Claire and Scottie Kate. She was the caring sibling of Elaine Bordelon (Gary) and Alven Sonny Brown (Linda). Lettie will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends, whom she dearly loved.
Lettie was preceded in death by her daughter Jean’nell Dupre, her parents Alven and Eder Brown, and her sisters Lois Brown Gros and Carol Brown Higgins.
A native of Marrero, and proud resident of Mandeville for over 39 years, Lettie graduated from Immaculata High School, in 1967. She and her husband were the proud dedicated owners of Big Joe’s Seafood of Covington for many outstanding years. After retiring from the restaurant industry, Lettie began her career as cash technician for Walmart for over 25 years.
Lettie was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time playing bingo and singing. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. Lettie was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Funeral Mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433, on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow mass and take place in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, 70433.
