Leonard Barbaro's Obituary
Leonard Barbaro passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011. He was born in Detroit, MI to the late Peter and Antonia Bono Barbaro on April 28, 1921.
He served his country during WW II with the Washington Artillery of the U.S. Army in North Africa and throughout the European Theatre. Following an honorable discharge, he lived many years in Kenner, LA before moving to Abita Springs in 1993.
The beloved husband of the late Dorothy Mae Hartfield Barbaro, he is survived three sons and daughters-in-law: Jimmy (Jan), Gary (Karen) and Jeff (Juanita) Barbaro; one daughter, Lynda Barbaro; two sisters, Rosie Barr and Jean Martinez; six grandchildren: Shane Barbaro and Mandy B. Aymami, Angelle Babin, Stacey Collins, Kristyn Paylor and Jeffery Barbaro and six great grandchildren: Jouet, Briggs, Brady, Brooke, Colson and Carsyn. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Barbaro; four brothers: Vick, Nick, Tony and James Barbaro and one sister, Theresa Barbaro.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 10, 2011 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin Monday at 1:00 PM.
Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington will immediately follow services.
