Leona Catherine Curran's Obituary
Leona Ott Curran passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008. She was born December 20, 1913 in Wann, OK to the late Olive St. Claire and Joseph Wyngate Ott. The beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Curran, Sr., she is survived three children: Suzanne Curran, Joseph Laurence, Jr. and Stanley Frank Curran; two sisters, Eula Mae Cummings and Juanita Williams; two grandchildren, Marisa C. Zaneis, Allison C. Hoak and two great-grandchildren, Ella Hoak and Ava Zaneis. Mrs. Curran graduated from Whittier College in California and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Alabama. She lived in Mobile, AL for 12 years before moving to Metairie in 1963. She was an educator and registrar at the Baptist School of Nursing in New Orleans. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM from Parkway Presbyterian Church, 6200 Camphor St., Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkway Presbyterian Church, 6200 Camphor St., Metairie, LA 70003.
