Leon G. Wilczynski's Obituary
Leon G. Wilczynski, 83, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Lee was born on January 22, 1941, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Alex and Leone Wilczynski. He graduated from West Catholic High School and, shortly after, enlisted in the U.S. Army. While stationed in Hawaii, he developed a lifelong passion for cooking.
Lee was married to Elaine (Laidlaw) Wilczynski for sixty-one years, and together they raised three daughters: Christine Wilczynski-Vogel (Jim Vogel), Danielle Wilczynski and Erinn Neyrey (Christopher Neyrey). Lee cherished his role as a grandfather to his three beloved grandchildren: Casey, Erinn, and Beckett.
Throughout his sales career, Lee was known for his unwavering work ethic and passion for life. He was an active participant in Toastmasters and the Kiwanis Club, where he connected with his community and honed his public speaking skills. Lee enjoyed mentoring and coaching sales professionals and was the author of Choose Your Destination: Discover the Motivation Equation = Results, a book reflecting his deeply held belief in personal growth and determination.
An avid music fan and exceptional baritone, Lee was a long-time member of the choir at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and truly cherished his participation in that group.
In retirement, Lee found joy in his regular gatherings with his lunch and breakfast groups. He remained active, forming close friendships with his morning walking and bicycling companions.
Lee will be remembered for his strong opinions and beliefs and enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Relatives and friends ae invited to attend the funeral service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, October 21, 2024, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m.
