Leon Etienne Faist Jr.'s Obituary
Leon Etienne Faist, Jr. was born in New Orleans, LA on May 1, 1951 to Leon Etienne Faist and Ursula Juptner Faist. After a lengthy hard-fought battle with cancer, Leon Etienne Faist, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Leon is a 1970 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and went on to graduate from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in Business Administration. He married Linda Kay Ashmead on July 20, 1974, and they were married for 51 years.
A devoted business professional in the paper manufacturer industry, Leon dedicated countless hours to leading successful sales teams as the District Manager for both Scott Paper Company and SCA and Director of Sales and Marketing for Manny’s Sanitary Supplies.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Faist, his sons, Leon “Lee” Faist III and wife, Carrie, and Christopher Faist and wife, Aimee. He was Opa to his grandchildren, Karlee, Parker, Quinn, Anna Katherine, and Cameron. Leon is also remembered by his sister-in-law, Dee Ashmead, and brother-in-law, Ridge Ashmead, and several beloved nephews, a niece, and special cousins.
Leon was an avid fisherman, and we take comfort in knowing that he has gone fishin’ with the Master of the sea.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00am; a memorial service will follow.
