Lenhard James Fontaine's Obituary
Lenhard Fontaine of Mandeville and a long time resident of Houma, passed away on Sunday July 15, 2007 at the age of 74.
He is survived by his loving wife or 51 years, Joyce Petit Fontaine and children; Allyce Fontaine Juenke and her husband Michael S. Juenke of Spring, TX; Lenhard J. Fontaine, Jr. and his wife Chantel S. Fontaine of Houma, LA and Lillie Marie Fontaine of Mandeville, LA. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Nathan P. Juenke and Lauren C. Juenke of Spring, TX, Felicia J. Fontaine and Olivia A. Fontaine and Steven J. Fontaine of Houma, LA; a brother Raymond G. Fontaine and his wife Maxine Fontaine of Slidell, LA. He was preceded in death by a brother Jean P. Fontane and his parents Eura Voorhies and Jean P. Fontaine.
Lenhard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps based in Thule, Greenland, was a member of the Ushers and Greeters Ministry at Our Lady of the Lake, the Knights of Columbus Council 9240 and the Deacon James M. Seghers Sr. Assembly 2467, Forth Degree Knights of Columbus, Mandeville, LA. He was a graduate of Hotel Dieu and worked as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from 1959 until his retirement in 2005.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family in celebrating the Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 213 Lafitte St. Mandeville, LA 70448. Visiting hours will begin at the Church Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow Mass at St. Joseph Abbey.
