Lee S. Alexius, Sr.'s Obituary
Lee Stephen Alexius, Sr., lost his battle with cancer on October 28, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen “Kathy” Jenkins Alexius; his daughters, Stacey Alexius, Sarah Alexius Thompson, and Stephanie Alexius; his son, Lee “Stephen” Alexius, Jr.; son-in-law, Brad Thompson; grandchildren, Max Harper Thompson and Lily Alexius Thompson; and brothers, Jay, Paul, and Bruce Alexius. He was preceded in death by his parents, Haller and Audrey Alexius.
Lee was born in New Orleans on November 8, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Covington. He was a 1963 graduate of St. Paul’s School, and graduated from LSU with a mechanical engineering degree in 1968. He retired from BellSouth after 30 years of service. Lee loved the city of Covington and has served over 20 years as a City Councilman. He was on the Board of Directors for the West St. Tammany YMCA, and was a member of the Covington Heritage Foundation and St. Tammany Municipal Association.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, November 5th at 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church, 16333 Highway 1085, Covington, LA. Visitation will be held at the church from 9-12.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to the West St. Tammany YMCA, 71256 Francis Road, Covington, LA 70433.
