She is survived by her children, Susan Tosso (Bob), Karen Pearson, and Kathy Galloway (Ronnie); grandchildren, Paul Tosso (Katie), Annie Wilson (Matthew), Jamie Tosso, Ryne Pearson (Erin), Kirby Pearson (Jennifer), Jessica Galloway, and Rebecca Crumpler (Colton); great-grandchildren, Sam, Sadie, and Sawyer Tosso, Gaines, Jack, and Reid Wilson, Blaine and Hattie Pearson, Rylan, Isaac, and Noemi Pearson, and Carter Crumpler; sister, Midge McLain Magee; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Victor Sharp; her parents, James A. McLain and Myrtis Loyd McLain; siblings, Ray McLain and Rosalie McLain Dickerson; and son-in-law, Rick Pearson.
Mrs. Leatte impacted many lives as the first secretary at Folsom Elementary School. She continued working with the school system until her retirement. She also supported her husband and family with the family-owned nursery business throughout her career.
Family was so important to Mrs. Leatte—building a family and keeping it close. Sunday lunches at her house were a tradition handed down by her mother-in-law, Grandma Della. She was also a caregiver to so many in the family.
The grandkids loved sharing in all her shenanigans, whether eating ice cream bars, dancing in the street, or going to the beach, the mountains, or Disney World. She was always packed and ready!
Her New Zion Baptist Church family has been a big part of her life since childhood. She used her gift of cooking to serve the Lord by preparing countless meals for Vacation Bible School, Lunch Ministry, and Youth Camp. Many will remember her chicken salad, banana pudding, and roast, rice, and gravy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family is grateful for the love and support of friends. In particular, they would like to thank R.J. Martin, Sherry Sharp, Michelle Mizell, and Mona Alford for the care and comfort given to Mrs. Leatte and the family as well.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Sharp may be made to the New Zion Baptist Church Building Fund or to St. Tammany Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
