Leander “Pucky” John Kinchen, Sr. passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2007.
Beloved husband of 56 years to Norma Rudesill Kinchen; father of Nova K. Jordan, Natalie K. Brown and her husband John, Johnny Kinchen and his wife Karen, Steven Kinchen and his wife Carla and the late Donald Ray Kinchen; grandfather to J.J., Ryan and Jami Jordan, Jodi, Kelsey, Andrew, Lillie and Benjamin Brown, Caitlyn, Daniel, Justin and Nicole Kinchen; great grandfather of Ellie Jordan, who’s birth is due in 9 weeks; brother to Vernon, Jr., Urban, W.D., Russell, Donald Ray Kinchen, Virginia Simonds, and Diana Dupuy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Jenkins Kinchen; his father, Vernon Lee Kinchen, Sr.; a great grandson, Matthew Jordan; brothers, N.F. and Norman Kinchen; and sisters, Vernie Hughes and Lillie Elliott.
Age 79 years, a native of Springfield, LA he was a resident of Abita Springs, LA for the past 45 years. Pucky was a United States Navy Veteran having served during World War II and holding the rank of Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class. He was employed with South Central Bell for 33 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation on Saturday will be from 1:00 PM until service time.
Interment will follow services in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to The American Heart Association, Post Office Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410.
