Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Orlando Jr.'s Obituary
Lawrence (Larry) J. Orlando, Jr passed away at his home on November 29, 2023 with his family by his side after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. Larry was born February 17, 1948 in New Orleans, LA to the late Lawrence Orlando and Elaine Debelo Orlando.
Larry is survived by the love of his life, his wife Barbara Shultz Orlando, sons Lawrence J. Orlando III of Cumming, GA and Matthew Orlando of Austin, TX. Their daughter Brandi Orlando preceded him on 11/2/2019, which he has greatly missed. His loving grandsons Blake and Logan brought him much happiness and a third grandson is due on December 12, 2023 that he was longing to see. Larry's siblings are the late Peter Orlando and Nicholas Orlando along with surviving sisters Josie Orlando Adams and Eva Orlando. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry graduated from Chalmette High in 1967 and continued his education at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was a life-long insurance agent and spent the majority of his career as an owner/agent for Allstate until he retired.
Larry enjoyed family gatherings with the laughter, stories and jokes shared by everyone. His many hobbies included fishing, riding motorcycles, sailing, concerts, racquetball and Saints games.
The Orlando family expresses their gratitude for his exceptional care from Modern Hospice this year.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass in the chapel of E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at noon with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA at 2 p.m.
