Lawrence Andrew "Bubba" Davenport's Obituary
Lawrence Andrew “Bubba” Davenport passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 on his boat “Hey Bubba” in Slidell, LA. He was born on November 24, 1925 in Madisonville, LA to the late Lawrence Augustus Davenport and Mae Marie Champagne Davenport.
Bubba was married to his beloved wife, Marcia McCain Davenport for 13 years. He was the loving father of Noel Anders (Dennis), David Davenport (Sissy), step-daughter Carrie Holeman (Pete), and step-son Adam Smith (Brandy). Bubba was deeply proud of his 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bettie Trigg Davenport, his son Lawrence “Larry” Davenport, his sister Laurie Mae “Moogie” Gitz, and great-granddaughter Kyleigh Davenport.
Bubba’s huge love and spirit deeply touched a great many people, and in turn, he was loved by all. He loved the Lord and shared this love through both words and deeds, as well as his love of life each day. He cherished his family and extended family of dear friends. He also loved fishing, boating, and dancing!
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, September 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM. A WAKE will take place on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation on Saturday will be from 11:00 AM until service time.
