Lavonne "Bonnie" Saxen Dunn's Obituary
Lavonne “Bonnie” Saxen Dunn of Covington, LA passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 22, 2018. She was born on August 23, 1933 in Truman, MN to Fred and Vera (Hartwig) Saxen Jepsen.
Bonnie is survived by her children Rhonda Clarke Albritton (Don), Robin Jourdan (Ashley), Rory Dunn (Christine); her 11 grandchildren Melissa Clarke Browning (Chad), Rachel Clarke Owens (Jamie), Jesse Clarke (Brianna), Caleb Clarke (Gabrielle), Ashley “Trevor” Jourdan, Savannah Jourdan, Ruby Jourdan, Brandon Dewitt (Sarah), Randall Dunn (Amber), Kayla Dunn (Randall), Cory Dunn (Mirranda); and her 23 great-grandchildren.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years Roland Joseph Dunn, Jr., her parents, her brother Sylvan Saxen, and her sisters Donna Scheid and Shirley Meyer.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospice, especially her nurse Amy Thompson for providing such great care.
Bonnie was a secretary for Freeport McMoRan for over 30 years. She loved gardening, cooking, and her beloved New Orleans Saints. Bonnie was a member of Collins Boulevard Baptist Church for over 50 years, and she loved the church and its members as if they were her family. Bonnie was a cheerful woman, who never met a stranger, and would talk to anyone, anywhere.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Collins Boulevard Baptist Church, 1501 N Collins Blvd, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 12:00 PM with visitation at the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the service in Eternal Rest Cemetery, 75212 N Lee Rd, Covington, LA 70435.
