LaVerne Kinlund Pollard's Obituary
LaVerne Kinlund Pollard, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at her Christwood residence in Covington where she has lived since 1998. She was born in Portlaand, KS to the late Alvin A., Jr. and Rebecca Cain Kinlund and has been a resident of New Orleans Metropolitan Area for the past 58 years.
She was the devoted wife of the late Amos G. Pollard, Jr. and is survived by two daughters: Sylvia Pollard Slade of St. Simons Island, GA and Jo Ann Pollard Richards of Covington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
After her children graduated from college, Mrs. Pollard pursued a real estate career with Gertrude Gardner Realtors for many years. She was well liked by all who knew her for her blithe spirit and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the chapel at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 S. New Hampshire St., Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave, Covington, LA 70433 from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
Interment will follow services at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christwood Employee’s Benevolent Fund, 100 Christwood Blvd., Covington, LA 70433.
