Dr. Laurie Elizabeth Leonard Miller's Obituary
Dr. Laurie Elizabeth Leonard Miller passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the age of 55 after a 5-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Shreveport, LA on April 29, 1970 to Kenneth Earl Leonard and Elizabeth Diane Green Leonard.
Laurie is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Joel Randall Miller; her children, Julian Randall Miller and Lauren Elizabeth Miller; her parents, Kenneth and Diane Leonard; mother-in-law, Merry Nell Miller and sister-in-law Bonnie Miller Abadie.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Leonard.
A native of Shreveport, LA, and proud resident of the Northshore for over 28 years, Laurie received her doctorate degree from LSU School of Dentistry and opened her practice, Laurie L. Miller, DDS Family Dentistry in Madisonville, LA. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Covington; she served on the PTA for Fontainebleau High School for 4 years; and was a band mom at Northlake Christian School.
Laurie was a loving, compassionate person. Her true passion was spending time with her family and friends. She loved her family vacations to Disney World and the beach. Laurie was well respected and liked and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Laurie’s spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at The Chapel at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433. There will be a time of fellowship at First Baptist Church of Covington Fellowship Hall, 16333 Highway 1085, Covington, LA.
