Laura Geraldine Sharp Phillips' Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Laura Geraldine Sharp Phillips announce her passing away at home on Friday, August 25, 2023. She was born in Springfield, LA on January 26, 1933.
A lifelong resident of St. Tammany Parish, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Geraldine was an accomplished seamstress and amazing cook. Nothing gave her more joy than taking care of and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Paula Denise Phillips Metevier (Brad), Jacquelyn Devon Phillips Lopez (Rick) and Joseph Henry Phillips II (Nikki); her grandchildren, Joshua Lopez, Jeremiah Lopez, Judah Lopez, Hannah Lopez, Timothy Metevier, Tara Metevier Reid, Andrew Metevier, Benjamin Metevier, Maisie Phillips, Joseph Phillips III and Mary Grace Phillips; great-grandchildren, Elijah Lopez, Cailla Sinclair, Joshua Sinclair, Miah Lopez, DeLaney Lopez, Addison Lopez, MacKenzie O’Keefe, Paloma Lopez, Ezra Lopez, Eleanor Ohman, Sonshe Reid, Millie Reid, Jack Metevier, Owen Metevier, Layna Metevier, Gavin Metevier, Jude Metevier, Roux Metevier and Gideon Metevier. She is also survived by her brother, George Julius Sharp, Jr. and nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Phillips; her parents Nancy Drusilla Harper Sharp and George Julius Sharp; and daughter, Sonshe Jo Phillips; siblings, Ethel Willie, Hilda Crockett, Marion Willie, Beatrice Johnson, Fay Willie and Devon Wells; great-grandchild, Richard “Tres” O’Keefe III.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Phillips may be made to the Council on Aging of St. Tammany.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Willie Cemetery.
