Kurt Carl Kemper's Obituary
Kurt Carl Kemper, Esq. passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Kurt was born October 30, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI and was a resident of Covington, LA. for eleven years. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Linda Mills Kemper. Kurt was the beloved fiancé of Joan Evelyn Burga. He is survived by his son, Christopher George Kemper, and his sister, Kristin Kemper Kronenberg (John). He was the uncle of Andrew Leith Kronenberg (Tammy), Kirsten Kronenberg Armbruster (John David), Melissa Ann Wood, and John Mason Wood.
Kurt graduated from Wesleyan University in 1969, Bachelor of Arts cum laude, Vanderbilt University in 1972, Juris Doctor, and Georgetown University in 1978, Masters in Tax Law.
Kurt began his legal career at the IRS in Washington, DC. He moved to Los Angeles and joined the legal department at Security Pacific Bank in 1979. After several years, Kurt became legal counsel for two savings and loan companies. Kurt & Linda operated a labrador retriever breeding and competition business for 20 years. They operated Kennel Kare boarding kennel for several years before moving to Covington.
An avid outdoorsman, Kurt hunted, fished, hiked and climbed mountains. Kurt volunteered many hours with the American Red Cross in Covington.
A Celebration of Kurt's Life will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 1 Marigold Drive, Covington, LA 70433.
