Kimberly Matthew Reck's Obituary
Kimberly Christian Matthew Reck was born in Del Rio, Texas on August 3rd 1973. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Throughout her life Kimberly had a servant’s heart constantly giving to those around her and always putting others before herself. Daughter to Christine Pettus Matthew and Frederick E. Matthew she grew up in New Orleans as an active member of her church and high school. She was the older and loving sister to Erick and John Aaron Matthew. It was on April 20th 2002 that she married the love of her life Matthew Reck Sr. Their marriage joined together their four children Alexis, Isabel, Mathew, and Lillie Victoria. Kimberly spent their fourteen years of marriage pouring into her children’s lives enriching them with the love of the Lord as well as encouraging them in a way only a mother can. Those years were filled with happiness, humor, crazy adventures, and above all love. November 30th 2016 our dear mother and friend was called home to be with the Lord as she succumbed to a pulmonary embolism.
She is survived by her husband Mathew Reck Sr., as well as her children Alexis, Isabel, Mathew Jr., and Lillie Victoria, her parents Christine and Ed Matthew, as well as her Grandmother Joan Howard Pettus, loving brothers John Aaron Matthew and Erick Matthew, and all of her extended family. She lived her life full of art, music and Christ. Her heart was always filled with love, commitment, and forgiveness for all. From birthday parties, anniversaries and holidays she strived to serve others as well as provide unconditional love. This love for her family prompted her to utilize her creative side by planning the most awe-inspiring parties and celebrations with an impressive attention to detail. Anyone that had ever known Kimberly can remember her for her artistic side which always helped her express her love as well as pour creatively into the lives of children and adults alike. Kimberly shaped all of our lives and taught everyone so much about love and forgiveness that she would always put herself second. The lessons we have learned from her will span centuries and across many lives. She was the most amazing mother, wife, friend, and teacher that God could have ever put on this earth. Our family wishes that everyone whom has come in contact with this amazing woman will continue to carry out her plans and spread her love forever.
