Kim Ann Manuel Wetzel's Obituary
Kim Ann Manuel Wetzel, at the age of 53, entered eternal rest on Friday afternoon, October 27, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 21, 1970, to Gerald Joseph Manuel Sr. and Diane Wilson Manuel.
She is survived by her loving daughter Taylor Cavalier (Terry M. Lopez Jr.), and son Zachary Cavalier (Rebecca Frey Cavalier), her adoring mother Diane Manuel Samons, stepfather Kenneth Samons. Kim was the proud grandmother of Callen and Carson Cavalier and Amelie Frey. She was caring sibling of Gerald J. Manuel Jr. (Daina Blanda Manuel). Her former husband and loving father to their children Laine Cavalier, nephew Hayden Manuel and godmother of Bryson Manuel. Kim is survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and lifelong friends.
Kim was preceded in death by her father Gerald J. Manuel Sr., grandparents Elliott and Mary Sandrock, L.V. and Rita Manuel, and her grandson Ethan Michael Cavalier.
A native of New Orleans, and proud resident of Covington for over 10 years, Kim graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, in Chalmette, Louisiana. She was an outstanding Deputy Clerk of Court for St. Tammy parish for 7 devoted years. Kim was a dedicated and active member of the Church of The King Church of Mandeville.
Kim was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Bailey either indoors or outdoors. She enjoyed her personal fitness from her daily lunch while at work, to evening gym trips. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. Kim was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow services and will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433.
