Kenneth Eugene Thomas' Obituary
Kenneth Eugene Thomas entered the Lord’s Home on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 surrounded by his family.
Born August 22, 1947 in Nanticoke, PA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy E. Thomas and Annetta L. Thomas; and one sister, Jean Ann Thomas.
Ken attended Penn State University earning a degree in Civil Engineering. In 1969 job transfers brought him to the south where he met his bride of 40 years. He loved watching Penn State football and was an avid Saints fan but mostly enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Leaving behind to enjoy many wonderful memories is his wife, Peggy Lemoine Thomas; his sons and their wives, Roy and Angela Thomas, Brad and Marty Thomas and Kyle and Lauren Thomas. Known as Oompa, he will be truly missed by grandchildren, Caroline Crosby, Samuel Kenneth, Abigail Jordan, Zachary Tyler, Jacob Christian and Ava Grace Thomas; a sister, Marilyn Rishkofski; numerous nieces, nephews and faithful friend, Ditto.
The family would like to thank Dr. Suarez and Jana, Drs. Hill, Bean and Powers for their compassion and care, along with the nurses on 3rd floor East at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. A special thank you for his caretakers, Twala, Jeff, Lynn and Bridget and the entire staff of Notre Dame Hospice.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM with visitation on Friday from 11:00 AM until Mass time.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Mr. Thomas to be made to Catholic Charities.
