Kenneth John Schneider, Sr.'s Obituary
Kenneth John Schneider, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. He was born in New Orleans, LA on August 7, 1945.
He is survived by his “quasi wife”, Mary Keller-Stubbs, his former wife, Beverly Berthelot Odinet and their daughter, Dana Schneider Reynolds (Dennis) and their son Kenneth John Schneider, Jr. (Jamie); Mary’s children Burton Stubbs, Kourtney Stubbs Fournier (Ryan), and Ricky Stubbs, his grandchildren, Tyler Hanson, Dennis Reynolds, Jr. (Erica), Devin Reynolds (Kaitlyn), Kennedy Schneider, Corrie Stubbs, Burton Stubbs, Jr., Payton Fournier and Reece Fournier; great-grandchildren, Aiden Reynolds, Abigail Reynolds, Lennon Reynolds, Zoe Reynolds, Cohen Reynolds, Millie Sisung. He is also survived by his siblings, William Schneider, Sr. (Gayl), Daniel Schneider (Diana), Peggy Arceneaux (Eddie), and nieces, nephews, cousins, Ex-wife, Carmela Catalanato and wonderful lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Madeline Clare Schneider, John A. Schneider and nephew Daniel J. Schneider and Stepson, Jose Hurst.
Kenny attended and graduated from Chalmette High School. He then attended University of New Orleans where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. Later in life he attended Loyola University School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctorate of Law.
Kenny worked as a Union Insulator for several years during which time he was also a certified school teacher. He was then elected as Business Manager of Local 53 New Orleans. In 1987 he was elected as International Vice President of the Southwest Conference of the Heat and Frost Insulators Union AFL-CIO and remained in office for the next 30 years.
Kenny, above all, loved his family. He enjoyed good food, drink, golf and traveling. He enjoyed life to the fullest!! He was one of a kind and larger than life; a huge presence.
He will missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will be a Celebration of Kenny’s Life at the Rooftop on Basin 4th Floor in the Basin St. Station 501 Basin St. New Orleans, LA on May 27, 2023 from 7:00 pm -10:00 pm This is a safe and secured location. There is ample secured, on sight parking 35 1st come 1st serve free parking and on sight secured paid parking $5.00 for 10 ten hours. The venue is directly across the street from the Basin St Police Station.
