Kenneth Thomas Delatte's Obituary
Kenneth Thomas Delatte, retired Business Agent and Elevator Mechanic for the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #16, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at the age of 71.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Debra Lamanette Delatte. Son of the late Ida Mae (Maria) Sampey Delatte and Thomas Burno Delatte. Brother to Janice Arena. Loving father of Kenneth Delatte (Crystal), Melissa Delatte, Kristie Delatte LeMay (Scott), and Barry Delatte (Danielle). Grandfather of Kristian Delatte, Arianna Delatte, Brittany Holt, Gabriele LeMay (Ryan Matthews), Scott LeMay Jr., Alyssa LeMay, Madison LeMay, Alaynna Delatte, Barry Delatte Jr., Ava Delatte, and Breauxdy Delatte. Great grandfather of Preston Matthews. Uncle and godfather of Bryan Arena and Cherilyn Arena. Great uncle of Bryan Arena Jr. and Kaitlyn Arena. Brother-in-law to John D. Lamanette (Desiree), Ronnie Lamanette (Deceased) and Janis Lamanette.
Kenny was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He enjoyed camping, loved the outdoors, and was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with family and close friends. He was a dedicated union elevator constructor for more than 35 years. He began his career in July 1972 and will be missed by countless elevator constructors, IUEC members, as well as building and trades members. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle, son-in-law, and brother-in-law.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
