Kenneth Lee Black passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Lacombe, LA. He was born on September 11, 1943 in Alexandria, LA to Mary Gail Helm Black and the late Edwin Lee Black. Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn Eiserloh Read Obituary
We were out of town when Ken passed away or we would have come to the funeral. Our prayers and wishes of comfort to Lynn and their children are sent by this note. Ken was a diligent worker and good friend as we were associates in the New Orleans Section of IEEE. This was a good and active Section during the late 1900's. A good number of the faithful members are no longer with us.

Dear Lynn, Jeff, Michelle & Richie, and grandchildren:
Please know that you are in my prayers for peace and comfort as you mourn the loss of Ken.
Each time I had the honor of speaking with Ken, he was always so pleasant. Ken was a kind, gentle man and I will certainly miss speaking with him.
When I found out that Ken worked with my father, MANY years ago, at NOPSI (Ken being MUCH YOUNGER than my father), I asked my father if he remembered Ken from NOPSI.
My Dad IMMEDIATELY said, "YES! I remember him! He was ALWAYS such a NICE young man!"
May you all have nothing but wonderful, happy memories of your husband/father/father-in-law/grandfather.

It’s the AIRMAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble and demonstrate.
It’s the AIRMAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It’s the AIRMAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote, ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It’s the AIRMAN, who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

I met Ken when he worked with my husband at NOPSI/Entergy. Through that meeting, I also met Lynn and his wonderful family. Ken was a very special, caring, compassionate man. His avid enthusiasm of LSU sports gave him and my husband, Ronnie, many interesting hours of discussion. Ken was a great listener and always presented an upbeat attitude. He will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege and honor of knowing him.

Last time Joan and I saw Ken was when we met in his and Joan's doctors office.
He was there to check on relief for a hip pain and was in great spirits as usual.
It was a pleasure working with him at NOPSI and the IEEE.
He was a gentleman in every sense of the word.
May he rest in peace, and we pray for him and the loved ones left behind.
I met Ken while working at NOPSI and we got along greatly at every function or meeting we jointly attended. A rare easy-going demeanor set him apart, and nothing was ever too much trouble for him to help me and anybody else. Unquestionably "A Man for Others."
